Ana Whelan

(Pelvic)

Ana Whelan received her Bachelor of Physical and Health Education degree from Queen’s University in 1994 and her Bachelor of Education Degree from Ottawa University in 1995. After teaching for the Toronto District School Board for 3 years, she decided to pursue her passion in Physiotherapy. In 2000, she graduated from McMaster University’s Physiotherapy program. Over the past 19 years, Ana has taken her advanced manual orthopaedic courses levels 1 to 3 and enjoys a hands-on, manual therapy approach with her patients. She has taken many courses over the years including acupuncture, manual lymph drainage, prevention of running injuries, osteoporosis treatment and prevention, and recently her pelvic health courses. Currently, Ana is a teaching lab assistant for Pelvic Health Solutions, a teaching company for physiotherapists in some of the specialized courses listed in Pelvic Health Solutions.

Amanda Mallette

(Pelvic, Paediatrics) English, French
Amanda Mallette, MScPT has a strong belief in empowering her clients to reach their optimal health.
Amanda graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 2007. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in exercise physiology.
Since 2007 Amanda has completed many post graduate courses and workshops, advancing her knowledge in orthopaedics, manual therapy techniques, oncology, and her passion – pelvic health physiotherapy and pregnancy and post partum care.

Yasmine El-Bakri

(Pelvic, Orthopaedics)

Yasmine completed her Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Toronto. During her Master’s program, she had the opportunity to connect with numerous pelvic health physiotherapists who shared their experiences with her. Their stories resonated deeply with her values as a clinician and ignited her passion for this specialized field. Her diverse experiences working with vulnerable populations across Toronto have deepened her understanding of the significance of creating safe, supportive environments where patients feel comfortable sharing their stories. Yasmine believes in a holistic approach to physiotherapy that addresses both the mind and body to foster comprehensive healing. Outside of work, Yasmine enjoys biking, exercising, exploring new cafes, and indulging in reality TV.

Kowndiya Amirthalingam

(Pelvic, Orthopaedics)

Kowndiya Amirthalingam received her Master of Physical Therapy at Western University in 2020 and prior to that obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Co-op at Waterloo University in 2018. She is passionate about working one on one with her patients to provide them with the knowledge, education and tools necessary to maximize their function and reach their health and lifestyle goals. She hopes to motivate her patients to stay active and help them take control of their own health. Her treatment techniques involve patient education, manual therapy, soft tissue release and exercise prescription. Kowndiya has a special interest in pelvic floor and women’s health. She has completed her pelvic health courses (Level 1 and Level 2). Outside the clinic, Kowndiya enjoys travelling, capturing moments with loved ones and creating physiotherapy-related content for social media.

Vishruti Mehta

(Pelvic, Orthopaedics)

Vishruti is a registered Physical Therapist who completed her Bachelors from Maharashtra University in 2014, and Pursued Masters degree in 2018.

She has 10+ years of work experience in the field treating patients with Orthopaedic, Paediatric and Neurological conditions. She has worked in various settings like Private set-ups, hospitals and community care.

Vishruti is passionate to provide client and family centred care understanding their strengths and interests. She believes that each patient’s concern is different and should be treated through tailor made plans. She is a certified Aquatic and a Pelvic Health Therapist. She has been executive committee member of ATNI.

Vishruti values updating knowledge and is keen on learning further concepts. She uses her knowledge of manual therapy, mobilizations, pelvic therapy and taping while treating clients.

In her spare time, Vishruti enjoys dancing, spending time with Family and friends and playing Cricket.

Hirvi Shah

(Pelvic, Pediatric)

Hirvi Shah is a dedicated and highly skilled physiotherapist registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and a proud member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

With over 10 years of clinical experience, she is committed to providing evidence-based, personalized care to help patients achieve lasting results and improved quality of life.

Hirvi’s practice integrates advanced manual therapy with patient education and individualized exercise programs. She specializes in:

• Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

• Pediatric Physiotherapy

• Medical Acupuncture

In her pelvic health practice, Hirvi supports individuals experiencing pelvic pain, incontinence, pregnancy-related changes, or post-surgical recovery—helping each patient regain confidence, comfort, and function.

She also has a special passion for pediatric physiotherapy, treating conditions such as cerebral palsy and delayed milestones.

Outside of the clinic, Hirvi enjoys swimming, gardening and hiking.

Kajal Patel

(Pelvic, Orthopaedics)

Kajal studied Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Gujarat University, India in 2016. She completed her internship from Civil Hospital, India where she gained experience working with Orthopedic, Neuro, Cardiac and Pediatric patients.

She moved to Canada in 2018 and did an Occupational Health and Safety Management program for 2 years. She completed her written PT license exam in 2019 and started working in the Physiotherapy field.

With a deep commitment to continuous learning and a passion for enhancing patient care, Kajal is a dedicated Registered Physiotherapist with training in Acupuncture (introductory course), Pelvic floor therapy (level-2), Anatomy trains, Rapid Neuro reset, Mulligan mobilization(upper body), Kajal brings lots of knowledge and innovative techniques to her practice. Her journey in physiotherapy is driven by a genuine love for helping patients achieve their optimal health and wellbeing.

Outside of the clinic, Kajal is a mom to her wonderful little daughter, and cherishes time spent with family and friends. She finds joy in nature through activities like hiking and kayaking, balancing her professional dedication with a fulfilling personal life.

Jeff Whelan

(Orthopaedics)

I have been involved in physical fitness and strength training from an early age and gravitated towards studying Physiotherapy at Queen’s University.

I have completed post graduate training in Manual Therapy in the Orthopedic Syllabus of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and was blessed to participate in many training and educational opportunities from some of the best minds in our profession.

I have been involved in resistance training for 40 years with a long history of designing and implementing goal directed exercise plans.

I have competed in Paddling events in Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe and still enjoy canoe paddling today.

I am pleased to serve the physical health needs of the good people of the Durham region since 1994 and can be found currently practicing outpatient physiotherapy at Durham Pelvic Health in Whitby, Ontario.

Joanna Rolfe

As a trained chemist, Joanna has a passion for improving the lives of people as well as an interest in the medical industry. She has five years of medical administration experience, and also teaches science seminars in schools across the GTA. Joanna enjoys curling in the winter and travelling with her two daughters and husband in the summer. She is very excited to be part of the team.

Rebekah McGilvray

Patient Experience Manager

Rebekah McGilvray graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996.  After building her career in marketing/sales for 10 years, in 2006 she made a life changing decision to stay at home and raise her twin boys; a decision she has never regretted and one that has taught her more than she ever thought possible!

Now, after navigating her own difficult health journey for several years, she is passionate about encouraging people to thrive in life by healing both their body and mind.  She is energized by authentically connecting with others and offering her support and resources to help them heal.

In her downtime Rebekah enjoys hiking, reading, camping and exploring the next adventure with her boys and loving husband of 23 years.

Shmailah Alam

Patient Experience Coordinator

Shmailah is a student pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Her goal is to get a Masters and PhD and become a clinical psychologist in the future. She has previous experience in healthcare administrative positions. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.
